'Breaking News: Oishii! Project Wants to Keep Smiling Together!'

And it works for me!

On the 4th of July, Oishii Project presents their fans with a surprising present. They released a cover they did of Halyosy's song 'Smiling.' Their cover featured every member of the project from Oishii! Ichigo to the Mini-Cherries.

But that wasn't all, they surprised fans by letting some of their hardworking staff join in on the act too.

When I first began liking Oishii!Project, I already had my eye on a few people for certain reasons. Jenny, Yumi and Nyanko were always the three I had loved for their singing; Micchi and Kelsey were the best dancers; Chii and Scarlett were the unique personalities. At first I thought I could already predict who would have the best voices, but this cover just proved me wrong and showed me a lot more surprisingly great talents.



Scarlett was the first surprise for me. I never knew she had such a beautiful voice with such a smooth and gentle vibrato that I can't help but envy. I always loved her for how princess-like her idol-personality is. It seems I have fallen for her singing as well. I now feel horrible for not knowing that from the very beginning, but better late than never.



The Oishii!Kiwi's have never released a song, so I have to admit that I have never heard any of the them sing. But Chikage certainly caught my attention. Her singing has a indescribable style that you just can't ignore.



Yumi's voice is beautiful as usual. It isn't really a surprise, but I always love hearing her sing.



I will say this for Vicky, though she doesn't have the voice I normally like she has what Sayumi Michishige has. She has a voice you can identify. When you hear her, you instantly know it is her. For an idol, I think it is a good thing because you would always want people to notice you, right?



Jenny, Jenny, Jenny. Please stop making me fall in love with you. I really couldn't believe at first that she could make her voice sound like that. Her rapping is probably my favorite parts in the whole song and by the looks of the comments I am certainly not alone thinking this.

Soon, she might have to start beating fans off with a stick.



Claudie and Yumi; Karina and Micchi made these parts sound so sexy somehow. I apologize, I can't seem to use any other word to describe it.



I am used to hearing Chii singing rock 'n roll with cute vocals as REMOTE GIRL. Hearing her sing so soothingly was like hearing a different side to her singing, which I loved a lot. If I wasn't already a fan, I would have definitely became a fan now.



Last but never least, Nyanko. I always knew she had a beautiful voice, but I also didn't know she could rap. I am knowing more styles from the singers here. It continues to amaze me how versatile and how so much better they have become since they first started the project.



There might have been some small problems with the microphone quality of some, but it was still beautiful and enjoyable.

All, in all this is probably one of the best covers made by a chorus this big in a long while. It was beautifully done. And, to be honest? Despite being a big fan of Halyosy, I really like this version so much better than the original.
